in 1990 and has continued to expand since that time.

are a company of Independent Chartered Surveyors providing
a wide range of expertise in the property sector. Each
of the offices of NSV is headed by a Chartered Surveyor
with many years of local experience.

Scott FRICS
was a senior partner of Scott Pinkham, a 7 office general
practice company of Northampton and district who sold their
business to Cornerstone in 1988 and became a founder
partner of NSV and undertakes residential and commercial
valuations.
Jonathan
Carpenter FRICS
has been self employed dealing with institutional and
private residential valuations in the area for many
years including Homebuyer Reports and Commercial advice.
Nick
Turner FRICS
was a practising partner of Ekins, who were subsequently
acquired by Prudential Property Services, with whom
he was appointed a regional residential surveying Director.
On a subsequent buy-out by the Woolwich Group, he became
national Quality Development Director for their Surveying
Services subsidiary, whilst still retaining a business
operational role on Senior Management Board. Joined
NSV in 1995 and undertakes valuations and structural
surveys.
Richard
Hopwood MA FRICS IRRV
Following completion of a Land Economy Degree at Cambridge
University, he gained his professional qualifications
with the District Valuer in Cambridge and Peterborough.
Then followed 14 years experience with a number of Leicestershire
based General Practices, large and small, corporate
and independent. Joined NSV in 1996 undertaking residential
and commercial valuations, Homebuyer reports and structural
surveys.

V Wainwright BSC Land Man MRICS
Having graduated from DeMontfort University in 1990,
he gained his professional qualifications, following
a number of years of working in private practice. In
1990 he established his own general practice surveying
company in Oakham, Rutland and has joined NSV in 2000.
Patricia
McLaughlin MRICS
Qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1969, built up
a private residential company of Estate Agency and Professional
Residential work, including Homebuyers Reports. Sold
out in 1989 and joined Louis Taylors/Britannia Building
Society residential valuation team. Re-established a
general practice company in 1996 carrying out residential
valuations including Homebuyer reports. Involved in
Estate Agency and management of residential properties.
Robert
Anderson FRICS,
FFB Surveying and Architecture at Bournemouth College
of Technology, qualified 1969. Independent General Practises:
Partner: mostly nationalised. Set up a partnership with
a colleague from the Walker Walton & Hanson days
- Nottingham. All surveys undertaken including Structural,
Planning and Compensation, Runway Extension - East Midlands.,
Dilapidation's.
Peter
Woodthorpe BSc MRICS
Qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1993 and for 7
years was an Area Manager for Halifax Property Services.
Has over 20 years experience in Residential property
in various towns and cities throughout the East Midlands.
In 2000 set up Peter James Estates in Leicester, a Residential
Estate Agency and Surveying company with which he is still
involved as a Partner. Covers the East Staffordshire
and surrounding area in which he lives undertaking Institutional
and Private Valuations and Homebuyer Reports along with
other advice related to Residential property.
Ian
McLaughlin MRICS
Qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1972 with a background
in construction matters in both a contracting and professional
capacity. Presently deals with all manner of property
valuations, Homebuyer Reports, Structural and Building
Surveys, Schedules of Condition and Dilapidations, all
manner of building disputes, litigation and specialises
in Party Wall matters.
James
Hasler-Winter MA (Cantab) MRICS
Read Land Economy at Cambridge as a mature student and
qualified in 1983 as a Chartered Surveyor with Gerald
Eve in the West End working nationally on diverse property
types and problems mainly of Valuation, Rent Reviews
and Lease Renewals, Dilapidations, Rating and Planning.
Moved to Cyril Leonard in 1986 as Head of Professional
Services and Associate, similar national workload with
more Retail and Residential property interest. Left
in 1989 to set up in General Practice as Hasler Winter
Chartered Surveyors based in South West London with
Clients locally and in the City and Bristol areas. Specialities:
Homebuyers Survey and Valuation, Building Surveys, Residential
and Commercial Valuations and Surveys. Past President
of Cambridge University Land Society.
Stephen
Martin Dip V.E.M. FRICS
Has nearly 30 years experience giving advice on residential
property. He is a member of the Independent Surveyors
Association and has worked both in private practice
and in large corporate surveying companys covering South
Buckinghamshire, South Hertfordshire and parts of Oxfordshire
as an employee and partner/director. In 1995 the practice
of Stephen Martin & company was set up to provide
the public with independent professional advice on residential
property, particularly Building Surveys, Intermediate
level Surveys and Valuation Reports, as well as other
related matters. The practice has gained a reputation
for providing impartial and independent advice throughout
the area.
William
D Bell FRICS
Has been self employed since 1983 practising as Kitching
Bell. He has well over 30 years experience in residential
property in the North Wales, Wirral and Border Counties
areas and mainly undertakes Building Surveys, Home Buyer
Reports, Valuations/Mortgage inspections, together with
some commercial work and including Schedules of Condition/Dilapidations,
building boundary disputes, work for Housing Associations
etc. He also undertakes preparation of drawings for
property alterations. Joined NSV in 2003.
Nina
Robinson BSc (Est Man) FRICS Dip TP MRTPI
Qualified in 1973. Has 32 years of professional experience,
latterly specializing in social housing and residential
valuation. Based in the North West for 15 years, she
has a wealth of local experience and is companyly committed
to quality for clients. Undertakes Residential Valuations,
Homebuyer Reports. Joined NSV in 2003.
Chris
Humphreys MRICS
Originally brought up in the Building Trade, graduated
from John Moores University in 1992. Qualified as a
Chartered Building Surveyor in 1994, gained experience
with many large commercial companys carrying out Planned
Maintenance, Contract Administration, Condition Surveys
and other Professional services. Moved towards residential
valuations in 2000, also carrying out Homebuyer reports
and Building Surveys. Still carrying out some traditional
Building Surveying work. Joined NSV in 2003.
Ian Phipps Dip Est Man,
MRICS Graduated from the University
of West of England in 1977 and originally practiced
in the West of England before developing his career
in London. Ian has over twenty years surveying experience
focusing principally on Security Valuations and surveys
for major lenders. Ian is often selected for undertaking
specialized lending cases and valuations of high value
properties. Joined NSV in 2003.
Jonathan
Charters-Reid B.Sc MRICS MCIOB
A Chartered Building Surveyor as well as residential
valuations has specialist experience in surveying Historical
buildings. From a construction background he also carries
out work under the D.D.A. Act. Joined NSV in 2003.
Richard
Hayward MRICS
Started his professional career in residential surveys
and sales in the late 1970's and moved on to commercial
agency and professional work. He qualified with Grimley
& Son, qualifying as a Chartered Surveyor in 1981
and became a partner in 1987. In 1995 he was appointed
a director of a privately owned quarrying and waste
disposal company in Walsall and achieved a qualification
in landfilling and reclamation. After a short time working
in telecommunications consultancy, latterly as a freelance
project manager, he formed his own consultancy undertaking
a wide variety of property-related work including residential
mortgage valuations, Homebuyer Survey and valuation
and Building Survey reports. Joined NSV in 2003.

E. Charles Raw-Rees FRICS
Principal of Jim Raw-Rees & Co, a multi-discipline
practice established in 1948 by his father Jim Raw-Rees.
The practice covers a wide geographic area of Mid-Wales.
Charles has worked in the area since 1982, carrying
a plethora of professional work from Residential Sales
and Valuations to Homebuyers Survey Reports. He also
specializes on the commercial market, sales and rent
reviews. Joined NSV in 2003.
Terence
L Moore FRICS FBEng MCI Arb MEWI
Qualified initially as a Quantity Surveyor in 1968 and
has had a varied experience on both Building & Civil
Engineering Projects over a period of 20 years or more.
He took a second discipline as a Chartered Building
Surveyor and undertakes Valuations, Homebuyers and Full
Building Surveys. A particular speciality is Period,
Rural and larger properties in the Greater Midlands,
Cotswolds and South Warwickshire area. He also undertakes
Defect Analysis, Schedules of Condition and Dilapidations
and is by invitation, a founding member of the Expert
Witness Institute, dealing with various Building Disputes
and is a Registered Party Wall Surveyor and a member
of the Pyramus & Thisbe Club. Joined NSV in 2003.
Paul
A Fox MRICS FNAEA
Qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1985, originally
working for Henry Spencer & Sons and commenced in
own Practice in 1990, with the Brigg office opening
in 1997 and the Barton office opening in 1999. He carries
out a full range or residential valuation work. Joined
NSV in 2003.
Chris
Hulme MRICS
Graduated from Stoke College in 1981 and qualified as
a chartered surveyor in 1984. He has gained substantial
experience with WM Morrisons Supermarket, Elf Oil and
BHH Property Group Plc and established Hulme Associates
in 1996 with Richard Johnson. Joined NSV in 2003.
Peter
S Riley BSc FRICS
Started his career in property with an Accrington company
of Estate Agents and Surveyors in 1970. He obtained
his degree in Estate Management in 1976, qualifying
as a Chartered Surveyor in 1979. Since then Peter has
worked in private practice in Blackburn for two Building
Societies. He specializes in residential valuations
for lenders and private clients across much of Lancashire.
Peter also has a wide knowledge of unusual house structure
types and has been associated with a large number of
successful development finance schemes in the area for
over a decade. Joined NSV in 2003.
Peter
J Lawton FRICS
Has 25 years post qualification experience and has worked
in the North West region all his professional life.
He started his career in Rochdale at E W Mather &
Co., Chartered Surveyors, a general practice company before
deciding to specialize in Building Society valuations
joining the Middleton Building Society (latterly known
as the Lancastrian Building Society) in 1984, and the
Marsden Building Society in 1992. Peter has extensive
experience in valuing residential property in the North
West (including residential schemes requiring development
finance), having concentrated in the areas within and
beyond the M60 corridor since 1984. He is used to providing
valuations for a wide variety of lenders and undertakes
home buyers reports and valuations. Joined NSV in 2004.
Adrian
Loak MRICS
Qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1990 and has worked
in both private and public sectors throughout Northamptonshire.
Adrian deals mainly with residential property valuations
but is also able to provide, through his own practice,
Estate Agency, property management and planning and
development advice. Adrian joined NSV in April 2004
taking over the East Northamptonshire area formerly
managed by John Tilley, one of the founder partners
of NSV.

Adrian Jones FRICS
Qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1977, while in
the District Valuer's Office. In 1979 joined E J Brooks
and Son, one of Oxford's oldest companys and following
its take-over by Prudential, formed a partnership with
another Brooks partner in 1989. He specialises in residential
valuations and surveys and covers Oxfordshire and adjacent
counties within a 30 mile radius of Oxford. He is a
past Branch Chairman of the Berks, Bucks and Oxon RICS
Junior Organisation. Joined NSV in 2004.
Michael
W J Traynor BSc MRICS
Has been a practicing surveyor since 1985 and has practiced
under his own name for the last 19 years, mainly undertaking
residential surveys. He also has his own Estate Agency.

Martin
J Wright FRICS
Has worked in Lincolnshire since entering the profession
in the late 1970's. Trained at the Royal Agricultural
College in Cirencester and qualified as an Incorporated
Valuer and Auctioneer in 1988. Served as Vice Chairman
on the Agricultural Committee of the ISVA and now serves
on the RICS Asbestos Working Group. Has also been County
Chairman of the Lincolnshire branch of the ISVA. Started
his own practice in 1997 which has grown to provide
a good range of residential services in particular residential
reports for banks, housing associations and private
clients together with a large number of Homebuyer Survey
and Valuations. Joined NSV in 2004
Ian
E Colston MA (Cantab) FRICS FAAV IRRV.
Qualified in 1959. Worked for Cooke & Arkwright
in South Wales, Savilles in London, Herbert R Thomas
in South Wales, Valuation Office in Cardiff and commenced
his own practice in 1968. His general practice covers
all facets of the profession including residential and
commercial valuations, agricultural valuations, residential
and commercial estate agency and management, rating
valuations. Member of the Independent Surveyors Association
and chairman of Team Surveyors. Joined NSV in 2004.
Gordon
Cain FRICS
Qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1967 and became
a partner of Green & company, a private company of
Estate Agents and Surveyors. The partnership dissolved
in 1982 and continued in practice as Gordon Cain Chartered
Surveyors carrying out Residential Valuations and both
Building Surveys and Homebuyer Reports. In recent years,
also specializing in Commercial Valuations. Covering
South-West Essex, East London and surrounding areas.
Joined NSV in 2004.
Hugh
Smith MRICS
Qualified in 1983. Joined Allen & Harris in 1985
heading a new survey department on their behalf becoming
manager of their survey office in Swindon in 1988. Returned
to private practice in 1990 and became a partner of
Edwards & Co. Returned to private practice in my
own name in 1994 carrying out Mortgage Valuations for
various lenders and Homebuyer Reports and Building Surveys.
Joined NSV in 2004.
Paul
S Withey FRICS
is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors
and a consultant in town planning. He has been practicing
as a Chartered Surveyor for 29 years in the North East,
based in Bradford, he is also a member of The Expert
Witness Institute for dealing with personal injury and
accommodation costs and has dealt with in excess of
3500 cases. He was a Director at William H Brown for
10 years, responsible for the North East of England
but has now had his own practice and Estate Agency in
Bradford city centre for the past 10 years. He is involved
in residential and commercial sales, surveys, valuations
and Homebuyers reports, litigation reports and project
management work. Joined NSV in 2004.
